Greenopedia: A Source for Practical Ideas, Tips and Advice for Sustainable Living

Martin Canyon Creek 051As someone who’s concerned about the environment and the future health of our world, I try to live in a way that limits my impact on our Earth.  As a mom, this way of living extends to my family and how I run our household.  Plus, as a parent, I want to ensure I’m providing my child with the healthiest environment possible.  Questions new parents may have include how to limit exposure to toxins in the foods their child consumes, what cleaning products are safe to use around their baby, and how to handle diapering their baby in a way that is best for our environment.  As children grow older, these questions continue… is it OK to for our children to eat fish?  How do we limit exposure to BPA and phthalates (in plastics)?  It can be time-consuming searching through the web for information related to these topics.  I often wished that there were one source, one website, where all my questions could be answered.

Luckily for us, we now have Greenopedia.com.  The website, founded by Sheryl Ryan, has been created to answer these questions about sustainable living.  Here’s a quote from Sheryl as to why she started the Greenopedia site…

“After reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma, I went fast and furious down the path of learning more about food and how it affected the environment, animals, and my health.  Sustainability quickly became a passion, but the lack of easily digestible and actionable information became a source of frustration.  I started Greenopedia to help people like me, who crave simple answers to pressing lifestyle questions.”

If you’re looking for a resource to help you make healthy decisions that reduce your environmental impact on our planet, head on over to Greenpedia.com and sign up to receive new articles about baby, food and home as they are released.  Thank you, Sheryl Ryan, for creating this wonderful resource!
