It’s always frustrated me a bit that when making s’mores while out camping, the chocolate just doesn’t melt. I know how to roast a perfect marshmallow, melted completely in the middle, wonderfully gooey and creamy, with a nice, light brown shell. But the chocolate has always been an issue. Now, don’t get me wrong. Chocolate in any form is delicious. I’m not real picky about my chocolate. But, on a s’more, it really should be melted and oozing out the sides. I wish I could remember where I first heard about substituting Nutella for chocolate in s’mores, as I’d love to give them credit. I first tried to make our s’mores this way last summer. Wow… it’s amazing!
- Graham Crackers
- Nutella (or any hazelnut chocolate spread… Trader Joe’s has a good one)
Spread Nutella on one half a graham cracker (or both, if you’d like!). Roast a marshmallow over the campfire or coals. When the marshmallow is soft and melting inside, sandwich it between the two halves of the graham cracker. That’s it!
