Crown Memorial State Beach, Alameda

I participated in a super fun 5K run (See Jane Run Women’s Half Marathon and 5K San Francisco Bay Area) yesterday morning at Crown Memorial State Beach / Crab Cove in Alameda. What a gorgeous place to run! There’s a paved trail that runs along the bay (the beach is 2.5 miles long!), perfect for strollers or a bike ride with the kids.  I’ve been to the Crab Cove section many times in the past with my son, as this is a great beach for little kids with a cute Visitor Center, but this was my first time running in Alameda.  I’ll be back soon!

I snapped a quick iPhone photo of Crab Cove (the finish line)…

    1. Thanks! I’ve been recovering from a calf injury, so it felt great to be out there running again.
