  1. Very sweet. Great photos, as well.

It’s sad to hear he lost his foot. Amazing he healed on his own so well.

    1. The leg is looking great! Fur has grown over the wound, from what I can tell.

Whatever happened to his leg, it looks like it healed well. I’m always seeing squirrels using both front paws to hold nuts and seeds up to their mouths. I’m wondering how this little guy manages.

    1. I think that’s why he likes our yard so much. He eats the seeds the birds have flung on the ground. The seeds are small, so he doesn’t need to pick them up to eat the way other squirrels do.

  3. I have to admit I am not a fan of back yard squirrels as they very greedily eat most of the bird seed that we put out for the local birds. However, I do enjoy your photos.

    1. Yes, he was more pesky last year, before he lost his leg, when he would regularly knock the bird feeder out of our oak tree. We’ve had a new feeder since September, and no squirrel has figured out yet how to get at it. Even the ones with all their arms and legs.

    1. Thanks. I like how he blends in with the now brown grass on the hill behind our home.
