When our son was a baby, my husband and I walked a lot at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley. Each side of the lake has a 1.5 mile paved trail (the West Shore and East Shore trails), perfect for walking with a stroller. When we would walk the East Shore Trail, almost every time, our son became fussy on the return portion of the path, about 2 miles or so into the out-and-back walk. That’s where this bench is located. I always think of this as my breast-feeding bench with a beautiful view. Every time I walk past it, I remember those days when my son was a baby.

I have used this bench for exactly the same purpose with my daughter who is now three and a half months old :-). Thank you for reminding me of this as it has been a month and a half since our last walk there – way too long!

Me, too. For some reason, I haven’t been coming here as much as I used to. After my walk this week, I was reminded of how beautiful it is. I’m going to make a point to walk (or run) here more often.

I could spend the whole day sitting on that bench. Great calming view 🙂

Thank you, Deborah. There are many benches along this trail with views of the lake, but this is one of my favorites.
