Rock Art

Take a child into nature where there are rocks and watch what the child does.Β  Either the child will pick them up and throw them or he’ll build rock statues.

Photos taken Friday, October 5th, 2012, Tioga Lake, California.

After my son built a few towers, he sat down to quietly enjoy the view of the lake for a few minutes. Then he proceeded to pick up a handful of small rocks that he wanted to throw over the edge to the lake below. We had to have the safety talk (again) about not throwing rocks over edges where there might be people below. But I am happy that his first impulse was to build!

beautiful photos! i wanted to leave the comment re: all the rocks last time we were at point lobos down in monterey, but it won’t let me log in via facebook anymore. says my facebook login is expired? can’t find anywhere for help for the reader, just help for the blogger. I don’t want you think i’m not reading these. i’ll just have to email you instead – ooo!!! i’ll post to your facebook instead. :-). wordpress is very clunky for the reader, that’s for sure. its a shame. i’m sure they’ll figure it out eventually. 😦 love love love the photos.! *sigh* i miss you. hope all is well. so glad Cy is doing so well in kindergarten. ________________________________

Thanks, Lee Anne! I understand… I have the same frustrations when trying to comment on a blog in Blogger. I don’t think any of them are easy, but I guess they need to protect bloggers somehow from the massive number of spammers out there (it’s shocking how many there are). Yes, you can always respond on Facebook instead! I do try to upload all my posts there, though I sometimes forget. πŸ™‚
