I’m looking for a peaceful and quiet little nook in the redwoods…for sitting and reading and spending a few quiet hours. I often go to Samuel P Taylor, in Marin, but would love to find a spot closer to EastBay/here…any ideas? Did you see any little, appealing groves in Redwood?…maybe in the little town of Canyon?

Our favorite one in the East Bay is Redwood Regional Park in the Oakland Hills. There are lots of picnic tables and benches throughout the park. I also enjoy the groves at Roberts Regional Park, also in the Oakland Hills. I’ve found a few hidden little redwood groves in a few other locations… UC Berkeley Botanic Gardens and Blake Gardens both have small groves. The San Francisco Botanic Garden also has a grove. Further away, but perhaps closer than Samuel P. Taylor, the Santa Cruz mountains have some great redwood groves, too. I love Big Basin. I love redwoods!
