Simple Outdoor Play: Take Inside Toys Outside

Simplest of outdoor play… let your child take their inside toys outside.  My only constraint?  I don’t allow toys with small pieces that can get lost (Lego‘s) or items that can roll under the deck (Marble Run, Hot Wheels).  When I was a kid, I loved to take my Barbies outside.  They would frequently go camping, swimming, rafting, and hiking.

I wish I knew what my son was thinking in the first picture.  Frogs against the farm animals?  Wildlife on one side of the fence, farm animals on the other?  Probably simply organizing.  Kids love to put things in order!

Yesterday. My daughter’s backyard: a mud puddle and matchbook cars. Fun!

I think it’s a volleyball match between the frogs and the farm animals. You had Barbie while me and my brother had G.I. Joe. We used and abused those soldiers for years. My mom and grandmother even got into making them clothes. Sharpest dressed soldiers you ever seen wearing their corduroy pants and Hawaiian shirts. 😀

I love the image of GI Joe in a Hawaiian shirt! And the animals playing volleyball totally made me laugh. Thank you!
